Setting the Long Distance Prefix:
From the DB Item Select screen (see steps 1 through 3 on page 266):
4) Enter 03-28.
5) Press save to display the Long Distance Prefix screen.
6) Press show to display the current setting.
7) Press chg.
8) Enter the code you want the system to dial (if any) when dialing long distance calls.
• The range is from 0 to 9999 (the typical code is 1).
• The default is NULL (none).
9) Press save to store the number.
10)Press the volume UP button to return to the DB Item Selection screen.
OR
Exit programming (see “Exiting Database Administration” on page 27).
PROGRAM THE LOCAL AREA CODES AND PREFIXES
Local area code programming requires two entries:
- The local area code
- The digits required when 10 digit dialing is required on local calls (e.g., in the Los Angeles area, callers must
use a 10 digit number when calling within the 310 area code - meaning that each time they dial within the 310
area, they must include that area code as well as the individual telephone number).
NOTE
chg, bksp, save, one, always, del, and ack are interactive LCD button operations.
Use the three buttons below the LCD display to activate the associated operation.
You can press Hold at any time to return to the previous level or press the volume
buttons to return to the main DB selection screen.
Refer to the table on page 265 for more information about each of the settings.
1) Enter Database Administration (see page 26) using the feature code Feature # * to display the password
prompt.
2) Enter the DB Admin password (see page 27).
3) Press show to display the DB Item Select screen.
4) Enter 03-29.
5) Press save to advance to the Local Area Code and Prefix programming screens.
6) Press show to display the Area Code 1 screen (now go to step 6 in “Setting Local Area Codes:” below).
AND/OR
Press next to display the Area Prefix 1 screen (now go to step 6 in “Setting Local Area Prefixes:” on
page 270).

You can press next to continue to display consecutive screens for programming the
area codes and prefixes - see corresponding sections below for more information.
