DX-120 Programming Manual T1 AND ISDN (T1/PRI) CALL OPERATION
ISDN (T1/PRI) Call Operation
OUTGOING CALLS
Outgoing ISDN Trunk can be made by dialing the Trunk Group Code (according to the programming of the CO
Route for the ISDN trunks and the Trunk Route Numbering Plan) or press the individual ISDN Trunk button.
When accessing a Trunk via Trunk Group access, system will try to select one idle ISDN trunk According to the
Hunt Method (see page
147) set for the route.
If no ISDN trunk is available, system will select another trunk instead according the Alternate Route programming
in the database if Alternate Route has been programmed.
While trying to access an idle ISDN trunk, if the ISDN trunk is temporary unavailable or released for any reason
from Network, the call will be dropped, a double beep will sound and the LCD of the EKT will display TRK Release
for 3 seconds.
A Congestion Tone will be provided if the extension is SLT.
If CLIP is set to “Present”, Calling Party Number will be sent to the Network.
INCOMING CALLS
After an incoming call arrives, the DID digits are received by the system and are checked against the Translation
Table assigned for the ISDN trunk (see
“Setting Up the Translation Table” on page 171).
If one entry is matched and the corresponding destination exists, the call will be routed to the destination.
Otherwise, the call will ring to the Intercept. If Intercept is not programmed, it will ring to the Tenant Attendant.
If the designated extension has Call Forward set or Predefined CFW programmed, Call Forward still applies.
If the final called extension is busy, a busy tone will be provided to the calling party.
If COLP is set to "Present", the Answering Party Number will be sent to the Network after the extension answers
the ISDN call.
If the incoming ISDN call is translated and routed for an outgoing trunk call, the ISDN trunk’s COS will be
referenced for Toll Restriction checking when making the outgoing call.
No Answering Party Number will be sent to the Network in such case.
The incoming ISDN Trunk Call will ring the destination (Extension or Hunt Group) until the destination answers or
the outside party abandons the trunk.
For ISDN Trunk Calls, call control as performed at the extension (Hold and Transfer) will follow ordinary trunk call
operations.
If the caller ID of the calling party has been received from the Network, then been allowed to be shown according
to the Presentation Indicator flag received from the Network, the caller ID can be shown on the destination
extension.
If the caller ID is restricted (prevented from showing), "Private" will been shown instead of the caller ID of the
calling party.
If a number is not provided, "Out of Area" will be displayed.
If the caller's (phone/extension) has an associated name and number, the caller's (phone/extension) name will be
shown on the destination extension.
After the call is received by the destination phone, the recipient of the call can press either the first and/or third
keys to toggle between the caller's name and number on the display.
For the extensions in the system, only speech, as well as analog modems and fax machines are allowed.
