DX-120 Programming Manual BASIC TOLL RESTRICTION PROGRAMMING TASKS
Class of Service and Digit Intervals via PC-DBA (continued)
2) Select the tenant group you wish to program.
3) Click in any line of the scroll list to select the toll restriction you wish to define.
• By default, the first one is already set up.
• You can change it or click line NO. 2 to begin defining a new restriction.
• In the entry line at the bottom of the screen, the No. field at the far left will match the line number (NO.)
you selected above.
4) Enter the first number in the range of digits you want to allow in the From field.
• Valid options include digits 0-9, * (all), and # (none).
• This field can be up to ten digits in length, so you can make your restrictions as narrow or as broad as
required.
EXAMPLE
If you want to restrict long distance and operator calls, enter 2 in this field. This way,
the system does not allow 0 and 1 as possible digits in the first position of the dial
string.
5) Enter the last number in the range of digits you want to allow in the To field.
6) Valid options include digits 0-9, * (all), and # (none).
7) This field can be up to ten digits in length.
EXAMPLE
If you want to restrict long distance and operator calls, enter # in this field. This way,
the system does not allow any digits to be dialed in the second position when the
caller enters a 0 or 1 as the first digit in the dial string.
8) Assign the toll restrictions to be applied to each class of service.
• In the Extension COS and C.O. Line COS fields, you assign the current toll restrictions to the specific
class of services.
Each class of service number can be set for both day and evening times. You have
two options for restricting calls.
You can apply restrictions:
- on a per-extension basis (Extension Class of Service)
- on a per CO line basis (CO Line Class of Service).
9) Assign the toll restriction for Extension COS.
• Program remaining class of services (1-7) as needed using the steps above for the boxes under the
respective COS numbers.
You can do this for all eight class of services in both Day and Evening
modes.
When all COSs have been programmed as needed:
10) Assign toll restrictions in the C.O Line COS Eve fields for both Day and Eve modes.
• The assignments you make here affect toll restrictions on a CO line basis.
• The settings in the CO Line COS fields override the settings in the Extension COS fields.
• The default toll restriction allows all calls, in all extension and CO line class of services, at all times.
Your customer may need more restrictions than the default.
EXAMPLE
There may be a need for a restricted COS that does not allow long distance calls, but
does allow toll free 1-800, 1-866, 1-877, and 1-888 calls.
This can be set up with
appropriate toll restriction entries.
