Programming DSS Console Feature Keys (continued)
PROGRAMMING DSS CONSOLE FEATURE KEYS VIA THE DET
To program the DSS Console without the PC-DBA, you need to make the settings using a DET to which the console is
assigned.
From an associated DET display:
1) Press Feature # 4 to display: PRESS DSS KEY.
2) Press the DSS button or the console that you want to program to display the current directory setting.
• The corresponding button on the console will be flashing red.
3) Press show to display the Dir No screen.
NOTE
To program the keys, you must know the code type(s) you want to use. The codes
will either be a directory number or a feature code. In general, directory numbers are
resources that are designated dialing codes in the system such as extensions and
page zones.
Feature codes being those features that an extension might invoke. If you are unsure
what type of code is to be programmed review
“Appendix C - Feature Directory and
Code Lists” on page 471.
4) Enter the appropriate directory number.
5) Press save.
• If you inadvertently enter the wrong number, use bksp, then chg, then re-enter the number.
• Repeat steps 2 through 5 for each key you want to program.
When all feature keys are programmed, as needed.
6) Press the SPK button twice to exit the DSS console programming mode.
OR
Lift and replace the handset to exit the DSS console programming mode.
