Hunt Groups 1-98
Chapter 1: Basic System Features
SBX IP Programming & Operations Guide
Hunt Groups
Stations can be organized into Hunt Groups that allow incoming calls to be routed to an idle
station within the group. This reduces the chance a caller will reach a busy station. In addition,
special voice mail announcements can be set up to play for calls waiting to be answered in a
Hunt group.
CONDITIONS
Special Hunt Group Feature Conditions
Overflow Timer - When the Overflow Timer expires, and a call is unanswered, the call will
be diverted to a pre-defined overflow destination. The overflow destination can be an
individual station, a Group, voice mail announcement, or a system speed dial bin number.
- The Overflow Timer begins after the announcement is played.
- If a call is not answered when the Overflow Timer expires, it will be sent to the
overflow destination while the voice mail announcement is being played.
- If overflow destination is not assigned, calls will be dropped when overflow timer
expires.
Wrap Up Timer - This feature can be used to delay new calls to a member of the Hunt
Group that has just become idle. This delay gives the group member a set amount of time
between answering calls (to make notes, take a short break, etc.) After the wrap-up timer
expires, the member station returns to an idle state that tells the system it is ready to
receive calls.
Music Source - The system supports up to eight different music sources for Hunt Groups
(not including the ring back tone). When a call goes to queue (on hold), the caller hears
music from the pre-assigned music source.
Multiple Member Assignment - An individual station can be a member of one or more
Hunt Groups (of the same type).
General Conditions
Twenty-six stations can be assigned to a Hunt Group, and there can be a total of ten
Hunt Groups.
A Hunt Group may be assigned as one of the following five types:
- Circular - see "Circular Hunt Groups" on page 1-99
- Terminal - see "Terminal Hunt Groups" on page 1-99
- UCD - see "Unified Call Distribution Groups (UCD Groups)" on page 1-101
- Ring - see "Ring Hunt Groups" on page 1-112
- Only the 1st announcement may be used for a guaranteed announcement.
