Call Screening
When a call is sent to a voice mailbox, the station associated with that mailbox can press a
pre-programmed button to listen to the caller leaving the voice mail message. If the mailbox
owner decides to speak with the caller, the owner can press the pre-programmed button to be
connected to the caller.
Notification Methods
Two methods of notification are available: Ring Mode or Speaker Mode. The pre-programmed
button type (Ring Mode or Spkr Mode) defines the operation mode.
EX. -- Station A user places their phone in the answering machine mode by pressing the
flexible button programmed on the telephone. The button light is solid red. When an
incoming CO call rings at a station and forwards (except busy type) to the station's voice
mailbox, the following will occur:
- In RING MODE, the preprogrammed answering machine flexible button flashes red
while the caller is in the owner's mailbox. The mailbox owner presses the
pre-programmed flashing button and the audio is broadcast over the speaker of the
keyset. The mute key is enabled on the keyset at this point. The LED light is solid
green.
- In SPKR MODE, the voice mail message is broadcast over the speaker. The mute key
is enabled on the keyset and the LED light is solid green.
CONDITIONS
The user must have a digital Keyset.
Keyset users must pre-program a CALL SCREENING flexible button.
An idle station can press the flexible button to go to the inactive mode. The LED
extinguishes and No Answer calls are presented to the station.
When button is programmed at the station, it is in the inactive mode (LED extinguishes).
