Hunt Groups 1-99
Chapter 1: Basic System Features
SBX IP Programming & Operations Guide
- A station in DND/Call Forward state cannot receive Group calls.
- Transferred calls to a Hunt group do not ring back to the transferring station.
- Ring/Hunt group names are not supported for external voice mail groups.
Unanswered Calls
• When a call rings into a Hunt Group, it rings until it is answered. If it is not answered, the
first pre-set voice mail announcement is played. If the call is still not answered by the time
the first Announcement Timer expires (the default setting is 0), a second announcement
can be set up to be played. In addition, a voice mail announcement may be set up to
repeat until the call is answered or until the caller hangs up.
- If an Announcement Timer is set and no voice mail number is assigned, the
announcement will be ignored.
• If there is no available member in a Group because every member sets DND, UCD DND,
or call forward, all new calls to the Group (and all queued calls) can be rerouted to another
destination:
- Assigned Overflow destination - this can be a station, another hunt group, or a speed
bin number (see ADMIN PROGRAMMING for this feature).
- Assigned Alternative destination - if the group is an UCD group - see "Unified Call
Distribution Groups (UCD Groups)" on page 1-101.
• If a call goes unanswered and has been cycled through all stations as programmed for a
particular Hunt Group, it can be programmed to then be sent to voice mail, to an over flow
destination, or be dropped.
• If an unanswered call routes to a pre-defined overflow (destination):
- Station, and the incoming call remains unanswered, it can be programmed to go to
voice mail, or it can be dropped.
- Hunt Group, and the incoming call remains unanswered, it can be programmed to go
to cycle through the various stations in the group, and/or sent to voice mail, or the call
can be set to be dropped.
- Speed Dial Bin (usually a mobile/cell phone) and the incoming call remains
unanswered, it transfer into that destination’s voice mail, if available.
• Incoming CO calls will be dropped when the number of queued calls exceeds the
pre-defined maximum for an UCD group - see "Unified Call Distribution Groups (UCD
Groups)" on page 1-101.
• The Pick-up Hunt Group is reserved for intercom calls only.
• Group pick-up won’t work with a Hunt Group pilot number. If the action is attempted, an
error tone will sound.
