Chapter 1: Basic System Features
SBX IP Programming & Operations Guide
Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLI)
The phone number of the caller is the CLI. It may also be referred to as Caller ID. Both incoming
and outgoing CO calls can be enabled to provide call information.
Incoming CLI Service
When a call comes into an SBX IP 320 station, the phone number of the caller appears on the
station display.
CONDITIONS
CLIP Display must be enabled before the incoming number can be displayed.
If the CLI Name Display is enabled, and an incoming number matches data in the
programmed station speed dial, the incoming number is replaced with the stored station
speed dial data.
If CLI Print is enabled, the incoming CLI can be printed to an RS-232C port.
If a value is entered for the MY AREA CODE feature, and this value matches the start
digits of the incoming CLI, then the matched digits are automatically removed.
If a value is entered for the MY AREA PREFIX CODE, it can be used in conjunction with
the "MY AREA CODE" feature.
If the CLI MESSAGE WAIT is enabled, the unanswered CLI data is stored in the station’s
memory.
Up to 12 digits can be displayed on SBX digital phones.
Any stored CLI messages are not erased if the system is powered down for any reason
(such as a power outage).
CLI information is only available for digital and SLT phones that have a display.
